  I have a six year old black lab. Retired working dog.. he got bitten on his back leg by another dog in Calling Lake. It became infected and he needed help. I brought him to Athabasca vet. They wouldn't even glance at him without payment up front.

  I came in saying that I had an appointment. My cat Lana was immediately taken in. She had to have a tooth extracted. It was quick and painless. Dr. Iliya Belosevic told me it would take 1.5 hours. I had been previously told by another Doctor that the procedure would take a full day, and that I would have to come back the next day. Upon my return he let me know that he had run a blood test for Lana and was able to determine that she has diabetes. Despite having check ups at the Edmonton clinic Lana was not given a blood test. Insulin needs to be cooled. They had given me a box to keep her medicine in, along with a couple ice packs to keep the insulin cool while I drove back to Edmonton. I was pleased with the level of care and dedication Dr. Iliya Belosevic and his family showed.

  I remembered Elia... big tough guy, pregtesting the most uncooperative cows... not a lot of compassion for contrary cows in minus 20 cold arms etc.

  I chose to come to Barrhead because clinics in Edmonton were overcharging for the same procedure. In Edmonton I was quoted $700 - $1,100 - TO START. The full cost of my treated at the Barrhead Veterinary Clinic was $685 with the tooth extraction, blood test and medication.
